Major: English and Communication

Personal Statement: I currently am pursuing a double major in English and Communication. I originally entered UConn as only an English major, but after taking COMM 1000 as a freshman with Professor Borsai, the class clicked like my English classes.  Pursuing my degree in English and Communication became my own double wild adventure of personal and professional intrigue, growth, and career exploration. However, this upcoming semester I plan to declare an HDFS minor, along with my double major.

**About the Speaker**
Stephen Russell is Priscilla Pond Flawn Regents Professor in Child Development chair of the Department of Human Development and Family Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin. He is an expert in adolescent and young adult health, with a focus on sexual orientation and gender identity. He is on the Board of Directors of the Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States (SIECUS), a fellow and former Board member of the National Council on Family Relations, an elected member of the International Academy of Sexuality Research, and was President of the Society for Research on Adolescence.
