About

Carolyn’s research applies marketing and persuasive communication theories and techniques to impact advertising and public relations campaign outcomes – as well as to increase health and environmental equity through community outreach and engagement. Her research has been funded by federal and state agencies, among other sources.

She also studies the effects of human-computer interaction on promoting health and environmental risk prevention and intervention via interactive informatics, videogames and mobile apps. To date, she has developed or co-developed an informatics system, two videogames, and two mobile apps that focus on health risk management and education as well as storm risk preparedness and mitigation.
