James Watt
Professor Emeritus
Dr. Watt is the co-author of two books and over 70 research articles, book chapters, technical reports, and papers covering a range of topics in media effects, human-computer interaction, marketing communication, and research methods. His research has been supported by National Science Foundation, Department of Education, National Institutes of Health, National Association of Broadcasters, and other foundations and corporations. His research includes âserious gamesâ and with Mark Hamilton has developed, tested, and verified the superior ability of a digital game to teach research methods to undergraduate students. He is currently exploring computing-intensive approaches to evaluating structural equation models of social and behavioral data using multiple distributed computers connected via the Web. Dr. Watt has been a co-founder of two research services corporations and maintains an active consulting practice, developing data analytic predictive models and research software tools for corporate clients.
