PhD Student and Graduate Assistant
Department of Communication
Bio:
Rachel V. Tucker (M.A., University of Cincinnati) is a doctoral student in the Department of Communication at the University of Connecticut. Her research program examines stigmatized sexual health conditions, identities, experiences and how they are managed communicatively. Adopting a critical approach for understanding interpersonal and health communication, her research interrogates how institutional and ideological power shapes experiences with (managing) stigma, and perpetuates health disparities and inequalities. Her work also considers how these conditions can be disrupted and transformed to achieve social change.
