About

Shannon is a first-year PhD student studying communication. His/Her/Their primary research interests include computer-mediated communication, specifically understanding how social media users interact with others, form group identities, and act anti-normatively online. She is also interested in studying online social activism, queer stereotypes in mass media, and gendered violence survivors’ choice to disclose online.
